Cascade liquid with bleach
"I have used Cascade for years for my dishwasher needs. Yes, I have tried other brands. But, I always go back to Cascade.
Recently I was washing my car and needed something to wash it with. So I grabbed the Cascade liquid and added it to my wash bucket. The results were great. I also discovered Cascade is great to use as a cleaner for other outside items, such as campers, doors, windows, etc. Just mix the Cascade with water into a sprayer (a large sprayer used to spray plants), then spray your item to clean, allow Cascade a few minutes to work, then rinse with water.
The Cascade with bleach works great to remove mold."

"Whatever you have done to Cascade, we don't like it; it stinks.
Perfume is totally unnecessary to produce cleanliness. In fact, prior to the French Revolution, members of the nobility used perfumes to mask their body odors (they were not fastidious) and the fact that "gentlemen did not defecate, animials and peasants did that".
I have difficulty getting the cloying stench
out of my kitchen. Maybe the best solution would be to get rid of the cause, i.e. Cascade."

Sorry you're offended by our scent. Often products like Cascade have added scent to mask the scent of raw ingredients that are much less pleasant. However, if you are noticing retained odor on your dishes or in your dishwasher, here are some things you can try to remedy that:
•Use recommended amount of detergent.
•If certain items always pick up an odor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand.
•Use rinse-hold cycle with 1 teaspoon of Cascade at least once a day until a load accumulates.
•Pre-treat or rinse dishes.
•Use Cascade Pure Essentials as it has a lighter scent (Action Pacs Pure Essentials are actually Perfume Free)
•If you find there is a bleach odor, try another variety than base gel; only base gel has chlorine bleach in it.

not like my norm... cascade gel with bleach
"After going to 3 or 4 stores and not finding my detergent I had to buy something... I should have saved my money and bought a generic!!! Now im on a hunt for the best out there CASCADE GEL WITH BLEACH!!!!"

"I have always and so has my mother used Cascade dishwashing detergent (powder in a box). Since Cascade Complete All-in-1 Gel has been released I have used it...and love it. It completely washes my dishes and leaves them squeaky clean. Also, I love the smell as they are washing."

"in the winter the lady i work with purchased cascade as she uses no other. the product had been frozen. the other girl who works with this lady also said to throw it away. i said i will call the company. i did. lady on the phone said to set the bottle of cascade in very hot water. i did. it turned out perfect. so we used the cascade after all. thanks for saving the day."

CC w/Bleach very watery
"The first time I bought this product was at Sam's Club. When it became watery after a week, my first thought was, "Aha! That's how Sam's Club sells it so cheap. They are diluting it." So I (regretfully) purchased it again from a major grocery chain. Same thing: thick for a week or so, then as runny as water. We have tried shaking it prior to every use, in case it is settling, but it doesn't seem to help. The performance of the gel is markedly worse as it loses its viscosity. I don't think I can invest in a third "experiment"."

My dishes do not come out of the dishwasher clean and I end up soaking them and rewashing. In the past I wouldn't buy the inexpensive generic brands but from what I've seen of my Cascade results I figure I may as well purchase the cheaper brands, they couldn't be any worse and I'll save some money. I have tried powder and the gel with the same results from both. I'm afraid you have lost a loyal customer."

"Not only does this clean dishes and leaves the inside of my stainless steel dishwasher like new, i used it in the toilet and shines the bowel and i use it in the shower both powder and liquid shines the heck out of tile and leaves no residue. also i have a bad back so fill the tub with water and put cascade in the tub and viola no scrubbing or bending over the whole tub is clean clean clean. thanks for a great product wish it was cheaper or more coupons were available."

It doesn't clean dishes anymore
"I've used Cascade for years and so did my mom. I was worried lately about the possibility of my dishwasher might be broken.
Food has been stuck to the dishes and the silverware is left with spots. Cascade in the past was a miracle in the dishwasher, but not anymore.
I hope Cascade will go back to selling the old formula!

slightly dissapointed
"i have been using cascade gel for many years, however, i have noticed a problem lately. I buy the large bottle at sams, and before it is aboout halfway empty, it gets very, very watery. I keep it under the sink, same as I have for years. I don't know what causes this, but it doesnt clean as well when it gets like this."

I'm sorry your Cascade Complete gel is no longer a "gel". Poor storage conditions or shipping and handling may have affected the product. Be sure not to store under sink because it's often too warm and humid, especially if it's near the dishwasher. While the product can be used but it may not clean as well. "After using generic or store-brand dishwasher detergents for a number of years in an effort to "save money", I was very distressed at the results. All my beautiful glassware was etched and cloudy. Even my glass measuring cups were so cloudy, the incremental markings were hard to distinguish. Finally, I decided to try Casacade Complete All-in-one. WOW!! What a difference! Every item in the dishwasher had a gleam and was totally clean. The most remarkable thing I can tell you though, is that after several washings, my glassware was bright and clear without any residue of previous etching. Orange scented formula
"my husband picked this up by mistake instead of the normal one-----it is absolutely horrible to try and drink or eat anything from a dish that smells like oranges!!! It is overwhelming and doesn't rinse off under water -- I can't eat or drink out of anything washed with it and I threw away the entire bottle of it. You need and want your food and drink to smell like food."

I can certainly understand not wanting any scent, other than what you’re eating or drinking, on your dishes. If certain items always pick up an odor, they may have become porous. This shouldn’t happen to other items that are rinsing properly in the dishwasher. To remove any odor all at once:

-Remove all metal itmes. (Vinegar is too acidic for metal items, but is safe for stainless steel dishwasher interiors.)
-Run one wash cycle without adding any detergent.

I'm sorry your dishes aren't getting clean while using Cascade. Cascade products are formulated to deliver the excellent performance. However, water hardness and other factors may sometimes have an effect on cleaning. For best results fill both cups as directed. If you use a rinse aid, we recommend that you check and make sure the rinse aid dispenser is full.
Also water temperature should be at least 120 degrees F. Run hot water at kitchen sink before starting the cycle. Make sure no items block the dishwasher sprayer arms so enough water reaches all the dishes.

"I have been using this product for more years I care to mention.My point is they removed the phosphorous from product which in effect, took away the edge over other brands,not to mention the whitening power.I noticed it right away as I also used a little to wash water to wash my white curtains as I have for years and they now are dingey as before. Thanks for asking! The Cascade with Extra Action available at Sam's Club is the same formula as our Extra Bleach Action (chlorine bleach) sold in non-club stores. If the liquid was exposed to freezing temperatures during shipping, it may cause it to be more runny. "I purchased a bottle of Cascade. At first the product came out very thick and sludgy. I had to remove the interior cap in order to dispense the product. About half way through the product became thin and runny and does not clean. I have to wash dishes by hand."
