"We bought a large bottle of this at Sam's Club. It turned out to be so watery that it just sloshes out of the bottle all over. We thought perhaps it was a new formula, but it doesn't get the dishes clean. The glasses are somewhat spot free, but there is still food stuck on the dishes. This doesn't usually happen with Cascade. We've tried to call Cascade, but they're always closed by the time we're home from work. This makes me sad...I'm afraid to buy other formulations at Sam's Club now...I don't want to spend $$ and then have the stuff not work or be wasted because too much pours out at once. I definitely DON'T recommend this product, it's not up to the usual Cascade brand name standard in any way."

"I was sorely disappointed when time after time my dishes were left with a film from my Cascade with Dawn Lemon Scent detergent. It was especially noticeable on my black plastic spatulas, cutlery and glasses. The detergent itself was really thin and runny and ran out of the dispenser."

Ditch the Dawn
"Just got off the phone with your nice rep. As I related to him, a few months ago I called regarding the Cascade with Dawn that had crystalized. They kindly send coupons to replace the purchases. I replaced both large containers with newer, obviously more liquid product. The replacements are as others have stated... water with little or no cleaning ability.. and I always pre-rinse dishes. It seems the problems have arisen since Dawn was added.. my suggestion: ditch the Dawn.. I declined the coupons this time. Am also having trouble with the packets dissolving-- 1 yr old expensive dishwasher so don't think that's the problem. Will try them by dropping into the cutlery basket... but PLEASE correct the "gel"... quality control is asleep at the switch!!"

I'm sorry to hear that you have had more than one bad experience with Cascade, but I am glad that you had a positive experience when you called us. Usually, we would suggest trying the Cascade Action Pacs, and they should be dissolving. This is very unusual. ActionPacs wrappers are actually made of a highly soluble material, just like translucent pill wrappers, designed to easily dissolve. Some things that can effect the dissolving include any items blocking the dishwasher sprayer arms, low water pressure, low water temperature (below 120 degrees F), product not being stored in a cool, dry place or not using the product within a few months of purchase. We sure hope you will give them another try!

AWFUL
"This is pure liquid not gel. I tried shaking the bottle but it doesn't help. I bought it at BJ's and paid a good amount of money for it and I am left with this useless big bottle of water."

"When I poured this gel into the dishwasher it was very clear and watery. I had shaken the bottle to see if that would help in case the soap was settled to the bottom. The dishes were never clean and I always had to run it through a second time. Now, I know why. All the cleaning chemical gel was settled and got hard on the bottom of the container. Now that the container is empty I cut it open to see it. I was washing dishes in clear liquid. I have a second bottle and the same thing is happening. I will never buy this again and I cannot get my money back from the store because I do not have a receipt. This is not a good product if the chemicals do not mix in the bottle."

Gel turns to liquid
"I bought two bottles of the Cascade Gel with Dawn, and after opening it and using only once, the gel turned to a runny watery liquid. When put into the dishwasher it runs out of the dispenser before the dishes can be washed, so does not work."

Waste of money
"First, how can you call this a "gel"? It is a watery, cloudy liguid that doesn't work. Silverware and plates have food residue, practically have to wash the dishes BEFORE I put them in the dishwasher to get any results. Obviously, I think someone in Quality Control wasn't doing their job. (Lot # 9295173141907) Will never waste my $$$$ on any Cascade product. Very surprised considering it's a P&G product."

What Happened ??
"I always buy Cascade and have NEVER used any other dishwasher detergent. I love the new product with Dawn but the last couple of purchases especially the last one the product was extremely THIN AND WATERY. Why ?? Will this be the new consistency on going. I don't think it has cleaned as well. I want to continue using this product but not crazy about any sudden changes. The lot number on the bottle was 9348173130118 it was Cascade with Dawn Lemon scent 60 oz."

Cascade Complete vs Cascade with Dawn Gel
"I have been a long time user of Cascade Complete. Cascade with Dawn was $2 cheaper so I thought I would give it a try. What a mistake. The glasses came out of the dishwasher dirty and had to be rewashed. I switched back to Cascade Complete and everything comes out clean. Now I am working Cascade with Dawn in for the prewash to use it up with Cascade Complete for the wash. I will not buy Cascade with Dawn again."

Worst Product Ever!
"I have always used Cascade in the past with confidence. I recently purchased a new bottle of Cascade with Dawn(Lemon Scent) and what a mistake this has turned out to be. Dishes were left with food particles, over 3/4 of the dishes had a white file left on them that could only be removed by hand washing and this product RUINED several of my baking pans. This is what I am MOST upset with because Wilton brand bakeware is NOT cheap and now my pans are ruined.
I would NOT recommend this product to anyone and now I am left with a virtually new bottle of dishwasher detergent that I can not use. Save yourself the trouble and do not buy this product!!

"We've used Cascade for 40 plus years and had a product that was consistent in quality, both cleaning and appearance. Prior years were package in powder and latter years the product has been in a liquid or gel. Today the Cascade Extra Action is the consistency of milky water with curds floating in it. The cleaning action is questioned, how many curds should be in the soap dispenser and should I call a repair person to replace the soap dispenser gaskets so this watery substance doesn’t leak out during the pre wash cycle. All these questions give this product a less than satisfied rating and an opportunity change brands."

Frustrated!
"This product is terrible. It pours out like water and washes away in the initial cycle before the machine actually has a chance to fully go through the wash cycle. Cascade is a good product , and I have been using it for years, but this one they missed the mark on. I have tried this twice, thinking I just got a bad bottle, but nope it was exactly the same. I had to throw both bottles away. Now I get to spend more money on another product. I won't make this mistake the third time! Sorry but it's a loser."

"I am very disappointed with this product. Unlike my previous Cascade gell purchases, this appears to be just liquid Dawn. Even after shaking, the product comes out like pouring water. It runs out of the cups on the washer. I feel it does not clean as well as the gell. For a liquid product of this type is should have a squeeze bottle with a narrow spout."

We want our money back!
"We've always loved Cascade products, but Cascade with Dawn gel is terrible. The dishes aren't as clean and the white film covering every dish is disturbing. We purchased a huge bottle of this horrible stuff at a big box store. After having used it and not having a receipt, we would like Cascade to refund our money. We purchased the Cascade Complete All in 1, and our dishes are back to normal. Take this product off the shelves!"

"I put the Cascade with Dawn in the dispenser of my dish washer, andclosed it. I shut the door, opened it to put something else in before starting it, and checked the dispenser. It was completely empty because the Cascade was so thin, it ran out when the door was shut. Would not recommend this product at all. Regular Cascade works fine, and stays in my dispenser."

Cascade with Dawn, NO GOOD
"I have been using Cascade as long as I can remeber. I have always been happy with it untill now. After reading the last 10 days reviews, I see I am not the only one. I bought a 75 oz bottle. The first time I used it, my dishes did not come out clean & had a white coating on them. I thought it was my dishwasher so I filled both cups again, it was worse. Left the film on all my dishes but the platice storage container & lids that were in there are runied. I tried hand washing to get it off to no avail. They are not worth trying to clean. I would not take a chance on using them. This is the worse product I have ever used. Money down the drain!"

What Changed?
"I have used Cascade products for the past 15 years. The new Cascade with Dawn leaves a film on all my dishes. We have not changed anything other than the Cascade. We do use the powder, so not sure if that is the problem. We have added the rinse aid, and still have the film on the dishes."

I'm sorry you have a film on your dishes while using Cascade. Our products did recently undergo a formulation change to comply with state and local legislations that require that automatic dishwasher detergents contain no phosphate. While our Cascade products are formulated to deliver the excellent performance that you have come to expect, water hardness and other factors may sometimes have an effect on cleaning. With this new formulation change the Action Pacs or All in 1 Pacs tend to perfom better when hard water is a factor. Also adding a rinse aid like Cascade Crystal Clear is helpful. Hope you'll give these tips a try!

bring back the old
"We have been using this brand for many years, now they come out with new and imporved.... Well in my opinion the old was much better. The new and imporved is so watery, I have to wash my dishes before washing them in the dishwasher to come clean. Please go back to the old way and forget your new and improved."

I'm sorry you're having this experience, and we would love to help. We can't go back to the previous formula because all dishwashing products were required by law to change formulations so they no longer contain phosphates. We did make changes to the formula, as required by law, but you should still expect the great performance you have come to expect from Cascade. We sure hope you will give it another try!
