"We have used cascade for many years with nothing but satifaction. A couple of months ago my wife could not find the dark green box all she could get was the light green with Dawn.Dishwashing has gone down hill from there. The Heating element turned a brown color with a calcim build up and dishes are left with a film all over them and our plastics have all turnd white with the film like etched in them. I have torn my dishwasher apart tring to figure whats going on only to find nothing mechanically wrong with my unit . I started asking questions and eveything leads back to the new regulation of deleating phosphates from the detergant.We have very hard water (which the posphates helped with) and also had to raise the temp of my hot water (which has now cut into my energy conservation) plus a higher risk of scalding.The bottom line I feel is this If you start having problems with you dishwashers perfomance you should run a cleaner and sanitizer thru once a month. Dont blame the manufacturer of detergant for following the new environmental regulations. I will replace the heater because the buildup is so bad and run a cleaner thru every month."
